Stratfor is a global intelligence service, based in Austin, Texas, USA. Saturday, early in the morning, the website went under hackers attack. Stratfor chief executive, George Friedman, wrote an urgent email to his subscribers:
We have reason to believe that the names of our corporate subscribers have been posed on other web sites. We are diligently investigating the extent to which subscriber information may have been obtained
Hacking has been carried out by hacking group Anonymous, first investigation revealed. The group claimed to have taken 200 Gb of emails, personal information of Stratfor clients and 90K credit card numbers. A list of Stratfor subscriber has been released on the internet.
As of today, FBI is investigating.
